The dHIb inaugural event is scheduled for September 19th. This page will serve as an in-house workspace, where we manage our organizational efforts.
DHIB Inaugural Event Program
To be held September 19th, 2008 at the Center for the Arts (listed on the UB event calendar)
12:00 Catered lunch for those registered for the seminar, place TBD
1:30 - 3:00 Seminar and discussion, 235 Center for the Arts, led by
- Gregory Crane (Background reading entitled "Cyberinfrastructure for Global Cultural Heritage")
- Stephen Ramsay (Background reading: Book chapter entitled Algorithmic Criticism and blog post based on MLA/2006 talk)
3:00 - 3:30 Break
3:30 - 5:30 Keynote and roundtable discussion, Center for the Arts Screening Room
- Keynote speaker Katherine Hayles: "Transforming the Literary: How Digital Technologies Are Changing Print and Electronic Literature"
- Roundtable participants Debra Burhans, Gregory Crane, Dave Pape, and Stephen Ramsay

- Prepare DHIB public website including registration page for fall event: progress, Maureen, with Don Trainor
- Prepare postcard invitations and posters for event: in progress, Maureen, with Don Trainor
- Order large monitors for display during the reception: done, Maureen, with Bryan Sidorowicz
- Draft press release announcing the event and the initiative: Peter B. (?)
- Prepare looping PowerPoint show for display on monitors featuring UB digital projects: Ronan and Jeff (?)
- Anticipate and arrange for technology needed during seminar in 235 CFA, working with Carl Lee, DMS Technical Director, (cl62@buffalo.edu / 645-6902 x 1487 / 239 CFA): Austin
- Anticipate and arrange for technology needed during keynote/roundtable: Nancy (?)
- Arrange for catering for (1) lunch and (2) reception: RLL will handle but wants suggestions for caterers
- Greet people arriving at event and hand out program: Austin, Ronan (and others?)
- Provide logistical support, driving speakers to and fro as the need may arise: (?)
