Background

My major project at the present time is the manuscript Dark Finance: An Unofficial History of Wall Street, American Empire, and the Caribbean, 1893-1933. I am also writing on New York School photographer Rudy Burckhardt's photographs and films of Haiti and Trinidad and completing a monograph on the Black Canadian journal Black Images: A Critical Quarterly of Black Culture, published in Toronto in the 1970s.

Digital interests

My interest in the Digital Humanities is in the creation of a digital archive of the history of African diaspora 'little' magazines and print culture.
